Brufen 200 mg is used to relieve mild to moderate pain from a headache, menstrual periods, muscle ache, common cold, toothache, or a backache.
It is also used to reduce fever.
It works by reducing the activity of a chemical in the body that causes pain and swelling.
Brufen 200 mg is used to provide relief from pain and inflammation caused by rheumatoid arthritis, joints, reduced movements of joints (ankylosing spondylitis), back pain, sprains, muscles, dental pain.
It blocks chemical messengers in the brain that tell us we have pain.
It is effective in relieving pain caused by headache, migraine, nerve pain, toothache, sore throat, period (menstrual) pains, arthritis, and muscle aches.
Brufen 200 mg should be taken with food to avoid stomach upset and reduce side effects.
It should be swallowed whole and not chewed, broken, crushed or sucked to help prevent discomfort in the mouth or irritation in the throat.
You should take this medicine regularly while you need it.
Try not to miss doses as it will become less effective if you do.
Common side effects with this medicine include acid or sour stomach, heartburn, nausea and vomiting, abdominal discomfort, constipation, decreased urine output, yellow colored eyes or skin, skin rash, ringing or buzzing in the ears, nervousness, loss of appetite, headache, dizziness, diarrhea, depression, confusion, impaired vision, drowsiness, difficulty in breathing, jaundice.
These are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment.
